What Visitors Can Expect
The beautiful thing about the September Celebrations is that visitors are not spectators kept behind a rope. Belizean celebrations are open, warm, and communal: stand along a parade route and you will be handed a flag, join a street party and you will be taught the dances, sit down at a food stall and you will leave with new friends.Every district celebrates, so wherever you are, from Belize City’s big carnival to the town parades of San Ignacio and the village events of Cayo, the month finds you. It is the single best window of the year into Belizean culture, identity, and joy.
